Save Money with VoIP

VoIP phone systems have exciting new features and allow businesses to save money on their monthly phone bill.  Many businesses can save enough money on their local/long distance service to pay for a new phone system.

A VoIP phone system can allow you to use SIP phone lines instead of traditional phone lines. SIP phone lines can cost about 1/3 of what analog phone lines cost, yet they have similar reliability. In addition, SIP phone lines allow you to get long distance for as little as 1 cent per minute versus 5 cents or higher from your local phone company. There are also SIP lines available with unlimited long distance lines that cost less than what a traditional phone company charges just for local phone service.

Why are SIP phone lines so much cheaper? The phone lines are cheaper because you are not forced to pay for the equipment infrastructure of your local phone company. AT&T referenced the costs in a filing they made with the FCC in which they called traditional phone lines “relics of a by-gone era”.

SIP phone lines and the VOIP traffic that they carry are where the business and residential market is headed today.

What are the differences between an Onsite and a Hosted phone system?

Onsite and Hosted refer to the two types of VoIP phone systems available for businesses.

Onsite/Managed – you own your phone system whether you pay with cash or make a lease payment. The computer that runs the phone system resides at your office in addition to the phones on your desk.

Hosted/Cloud/Virtual –  Instead of purchasing a control unit or server the computer that runs your phone system resides at the server of your originating VoIP Service.  Phone sets are at your office or remote office/worker and have calls directed by the VoIP Server.
